EMG 85X
The 85X has an organic and open voice thanks to the added headroom and response known to all EMG X pickups. Featuring close aperture coils loaded with Alnico V magnets, the 85X is a powerful guitar pickup with exceptional tone and versatility. The Alnico magnets of this model provide a muscular growl and smooth lead tones enabling you to play everything from the blues to the most extreme metal. Although often used in the neck position, make no mistake, the EMG 85X sounds great as a bridge humbucker thanks to its exceptional smoothness and soul. This pickup pairs well with just about every other pickup in our line and using our solderless system, it makes changing your tone easier than ever.
EMG SAX
The SAX is an active single coil pickup loaded with an Alnico V bar magnet that has an unmistakable Strat™ sound: bright, airy, with a rich bottom end. With internal shielding and a low impedance preamp, you get a virtually noiseless pickup without sacrificing a true single coil tone. The Alnico V bar magnet allows for the output to remain balanced during big string bends that makes for a beautifully articulate tone. The X series preamp truly bridges the gap between passive and active tone and feel. The creamy mid-range warmth creates sublime blues tones that are clear, strong and expressive.
