Product Overview

The electric guitar started a planetary musical revolution thanks to Leo Fender and his two creations: the Telecaster and the Stratocaster. Now, 7 decades after the launch of these iconic guitars, VegaTrem closes the circle by creating this vibrato for Telecaster: The VegaTrem VT2 Teletrem, the tremolo that can be installed on a T-Style using little more than a couple of screws and a screwdriver… And, obviously, with the utmost consideration and respect for the original design, so that if in the future you change your mind and want to revert your Telecaster to its original bridge, our guitar will recover its usual appearance (it should be noted that there will remain two small holes on the front that will be invisible to the public eye since they will be covered by the original TL bridge itself).

It is therefore a creation that revolutionizes, for the first time in 70 years, the very concept of the Telecaster, since it was originally conceived as a guitar with a fixed bridge and no physical space to house a tremolo or vibrato. The solution to reach this milestone is audacious: take advantage of the 6 holes that cross the body of the guitar to place springs that will allow the movement of a classic tremolo, while enriching, by the dynamics of this system, the tone and sustain without detuning your instrument. This new tremolo/vibrato, with VegaTrem‘s characteristic tuning stability, allowing you to expand and enrich the musical possibilities of this legendary guitar: Tremolucionary, once again.

The fantastic T-Style guitars were not intended to accommodate a tremolo or vibrato. However, this clever solution, combined with the exceptional quality of the materials such as naval stainless steel and brass saddles (as in Leo’s original design), enhances the tonal quality of your TL guitar, whether or not you use the tremolo itself. Undoubtedly, adding the ability to pull up to half tone plus the option of dive bombing (yes, dive bombing with a Telecaster!) plus the new sonic expressiveness we will get, is going to give a new life to these legendary guitars.

Whoever has a Telecaster, especially if it’s a classic, has a treasure. Moreover, by installing a VT2 Teletrem, unlike other options available on the market, you are deeply respecting the integrity of your beloved guitar without having to make permanent changes. Your TL will be honored in this process, although you should keep in mind that you are going to have to drill two new small holes for the screws. Therefore, if you want to avoid even the slightest permanent modification to your guitar, what you need is a VT2ND (No Drill), i.e. without holes.

The VT2 Teletrem is designed by and for guitarists, and this shows in details. For example, the tension applicable to the springs is adjustable, thus you can adapt the VT2 to your favorite “set up”, even reaching enough resistance avoiding any kind of movement when doing “double stop bendings”.
