Product Overview
If you are a fan of guitars by world-class custom shop luthiers, such as Tom Anderson, John Suhr, James Tyler, Don Grosh, Charvel Custom Shop, Schecter Masterworks, Fender Custom Shop and other premium custom guitar makers, you have come to the right place. Ted Stevenson is a true artisan, individually hand-crafting guitars and amplifiers in his Montreal workshop. This is the definition of boutique.
This is a custom made Ted Stevenson Standard that I commissioned for sale through my store in Bethany, CT. It sold to a customer about a year ago. Shortly after receiving it he had his "tech" adjust the truss rod, and in so doing, he actually put a crack in the small piece of wood between the neck pickup and truss rod adjustment wheel. It went back to Ted who cleaned it up and made sure it was 100% sound, but it does have that repair (small black square above neck pickup in pics). I ended up buying the guitar back from that customer for my own personal use. I have some new guitars on order from Ted so it's time to let someone else have a turn with this wonderful instrument.
I originally supplied the body wood to Ted (single piece of flamed maple). The neck is all roasted flame maple. The neck is a Charvel-ish thin U shape (.79"-.85"), 16" radius, 1-11/16" nut, Jescar stainless 6100 sized frets. A big brass block has been installed on the Original Floyd Rose. It has 5-way superswitch for the cool split sounds in 2 & 4 positions. It has a Tone Zone in the bridge position now, but I will install Ted's original hand wound hot A5 pickup on request-buyer's choice. Outside of the noted repair it is in excellent plus condition. 8 pounds 9 ounces. Comes with a black tolex hardshell case. This guitar sold originally for $3300.
