Product Overview

This glorious Fender Telecaster was built in Fullerton, California in the summer of 1956. We are selling this on behalf of the original owner who purchased it at music store in Waterbury, CT at the tender age of 16 years old. It has spent the last many years unplayed, but it was player's guitar for decades before being put away in storage. Stunningly, 4 of the 6 strings on this guitar are the original factory strings. The 2 broken original strings are included in the case. The pictures speak volumes, but in summary this appears to be a complete and original, 100% intact example of a 1956 Telecaster.

The one anomaly that is unaccounted for is an unusual 'bump' under the finish on the back of the guitar between the neck plate and string ferrules. It appears to be a shallow mound of something under the finish, an oval shape approximately 1" x 2" x 1/64" high, and looks like it occurred at the factory before the finish was applied. Without any concrete explanation to offer, please review the 62 pictures supplied (3rd image shows the bump), and don't hesitate to inquire for further information, pictures or videos.

There is some slight fret sprout. If you want to put this into service as a daily driver, I would advise a fret dressing and set up for your string guage of choice. We can do that here prior to delivery, or you can use your own trusted technician. Buyer's choice. The original lacquered tweed case and a brown leather strap are included with the guitar.
