I’m listing a few from my personal stash of mid-‘90s ESPs. These are from a great era of ESP when pretty much everything with the ESP logo on the headstock was a “custom shop” guitar. While they might be catalog models, the quality was identical to a similarly spec’d one-off true custom, they just had standardized specs.
There is nothing on the market you can get that touches this for even double the price, IMO. I sold a ton of ESPs as a dealer in the 90s, and I truly believe this is their “golden era”.
This is an mid-‘90s Vintage Plus in see thru blue over ash body with a beautiful quartersawn maple neck and a thick, dark rosewood fingerboard. Stock specs include Seymour Duncan Vintage Rail pickups, Gotoh bridge and Sperzel locking tuners, jumbo nickel silver frets and abalone dot inlays. Thin U neck plays like butter.
Condition: Very good +
There are a few clear coat impressions that I can't really photograph. Frets are nearly perfect. A little honest finish wear on the back of the neck that comes from getting played in for 25+ years. Comes with the Original Tolex ESP logo'd hard shell case. For intents and purposes, a true closet classic example of a 25+ year old instrument. Custom shop quality Strat for a fraction of the price.
