Product Overview

There is something magical when the same woods from the same forest are used throughout an instrument – especially when it is Honduran mahogany. With a substantially higher density than spruce, we are able to sand the mahogany tops to a thinness that really drives the sound, facilitating plush overtones that mingle with increased instrument projection. Known for its midrange warmth, these all mahogany guitars fit comfortably in an ensemble of other stringed instruments and provides ideal accompaniment for vocals. Our mahogany is individually harvested in the Mayan Biosphere by a conservation cooperative practicing sustainable forestry. Handcrafted in Bend, Oregon. Each Frontier is factory equipped with LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics and comes with a deluxe Breedlove hardshell case. You will sound better, play better and play more on Breedlove American made acoustic .

When we set out to create a guitar that would surpass the classic big body sound of the dreadnought, we didn’t just want it to be loud. We sought to bring out more tonal complexity, and to offer a much more comfortable playing experience, too. Introducing the new Breedlove Concerto, a new guitar shape created to elicit more volume than a classic dreadnought, and more lush, complex tonal resonance in a comfortable body shape that feels just right. Loud, textured, and supremely satisfying.

Breedlove guitar necks feature a slimmer neck profile which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. Unlike traditional dovetail neck joints that require major surgery for a neck re-set, it is easy to adjust the play action and neck angle with the Breedlove bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish contributes to ideal playability – the finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

Genuine mahogany, swietenia macrophyllia, can be found from Mexico to southern Amazonia in Brazil. Mahogany is a medium-lightweight wood, ranging in color from light brown to dark, and is primarily used for necks because of the feel and the stability it provides. It offers a balanced, resonant tone with notable sustain – a thick bottom end, rich midrange, and controlled, warm top end finish out the sound. The coloration is a reddish brown.

Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service – and inspiration.
